Wasn't Barret living down there to begin with? [so yeah, she knows. i'm sure tifa probably explained it off-screen tbh to explain why they left a four year old at a bar alone. she's cozying up to his side under his arm though. yay.]

I'm not... sure? [ he shakes his head ] They had Avalanche meetings in there. That's all I got.

...speaking of...where are you going to stay after we get back?

... I don't know. Haven't thought about it that much.

[ he isn't even fully convinced his sense of self will make it past beating sephiroth thinking of the future is wild ]

Then...why don't you come back with me? [this is thinking soooooo far in the future, but she has to. she has to try and build a future for herself, to give herself a reason to follow through and actually try to find a way home instead of accepting her death again and returning to the lifestream and disappearing from the others.]

[ it's not a no. it's a quip because he's not sure what to say to this because it is, indeed, very far into the future, and because he's been wondering some things that are. not appropriate to ask right now on this ferris wheel so he won't. ]

She does not. [no she might, but she'd probably change her mind if aerith mentioned cloud rescued her.] And besides, even if she did she'd warm up to you eventually.

[it's a quip, but she answers anyway. she does not know what else he is thinking and she is more focused on being comfy and curled up against him.]

Not really. [okay?] But I should go back and at least stay a little while with her, shouldn't I?
