[eat shit, water. she does not let the coconut half sail into the abyss. she actually jumps and catches it, landing back on the sand.]

Got it! [there is somehow still some water left even while doing this.] It smells sweet...[she is already trying to figure out how to scoop up some of the meat inside.]

Pretty sure you can drink what's inside. [ whatever is left, it's fine, he anime'd it. he's looking curiously at the flesh of the coconut himself and wondering if he should just. cut it. more. ]

[because they are essentially anime there is probably a good amount left for a little sip. cloud's busy staring at this coconut and aerith decides that it doesn't seem poisonous. so she drinks the water slowly to savor it.

and immediately kind of wrinkles her nose in surprise.]

Whoa...kind of spicy.

[ well he was going to drink some himself but ]

Yeah...[she says, taking another drink. it is still spicy. dumbass. give her a second to scoop up some of the meat from the inside to pop into her mouth, too.] It's still sweet but there's definitely a kick to it!

[ looking Very Amused as she does so ]

You sure you should be eating that?

[well she didn't drop dead, so.]

It's not bad. It's just...different? But I bet that means the other fruit from the trees around the island's just as edible.

Maybe. Not sure how I feel about a spicy peach, though.

[ but sure he'll like. lift this coconut to his mouth and take an awkward bite of the flesh of it. ]

...but a spicy coconut? [:o what is the verdict? they really are about to both be high on the beach on a monday.]

Y'know... I've had worse. [ it really is a weird kick. ] Might actually be better with a stronger flavored fruit, if they've all got that kick.

Then maybe we should try the other ones after all? [her eyes are wide and she looks kind of excited about the idea.] We can pick one from each tree and share them just to see what tastes best.

Sure. Might as well make a fruit salad at this point.

Cloud! [important!!!] There're those houses back there on the island. They must have a kitchen, right? [she can cook! and prove herself!

...maybe they have knives we could be using for the fruit itself. [instead of using the buster sword like a couple of idiots.] We could go get some fruit and take a look?

[ he thinks it's a little funny, but he's agreeing, moving to the other trees to start collecting ]

How much do you want us to grab?

[she was not originally dedicated to a fruit salad, but now she is.]

Two or three of each? I'm not eating this by myself, am I?

Not unless I'm banned from trying it.

Doesn't banning you from trying kinda go against the idea of sharing? [she says, as if it's always obvious she wants to share with him.]

Well... that's why I'm collecting more than one of each.

[she really should be considering the fact that cloud is absolutely doing this without complaint, but you know what. it makes her happy even if it's weird. just realized this is kind of the reverse of their alt timeline date and i hate that. anyway they move across the island gathering fruits, and aerith is making cloud hold all of them. they venture off to the neighborhood and aerith lets herself into a home.]

...they're kinda small, but usable. Set everything on the counter and I'll take care of it.

That's... a way to decorate a house, I guess.

[ ????? why are we on a beach front. anyway cloud has like, armfuls of fruits to bring over to the counter, though; ]

You sure you don't need me to do anything? [ it's a lot of fruit to cut... but also cloud consider that cutting stuff with someone else next to you is the worst get out of my kitchen (i am not aerith) ]

[there's a laugh and she gestures for cloud to have a seat.]

Not sure what you could do yet, so sit down. [get out of her tiny kitchen, it is just cutting fruit. she can handle that!! she looks around in a drawer to come up with a large knife and rinses off the fruit to begin cutting them and tossing everything into a bowl. on occasion she's sneaking little bites but most of it goes into a dish for them to share.]

These houses are kinda cute though. We could always come back to use them to get cleaned up, too. [their fucking SHOWERS.]

Yeah. Might as well use them while we've got access. We kind of... need it.

[ he isn't sure what will vanish into the fog or if these are here to stay but god they are all so terrible ]

I think I saw a clothing shop on the other side of the island, too, when we came through the door. We can grab some other things from there before coming back.

[listen they are used to traveling but also...she does not want to have to use the haunted house bath or rinse off in the stream. let her have an actual nice shower!!!]
