We keep looking. [repeating it like an affirmation.] We understand more than we did last week. It's just...using what we learned and figuring out the next steps of our path, isn't it? I wish it was easier to understand how the monsters are thinking. Or at least how the cult's ritual works for summoning them. If we did, maybe there's a way we could protect people.
The only chance we have at understanding how they think is to ask them ourselves.

The overseers would likely know best about how the summoning rituals work, but if they do, they haven't said so - at least not that I've heard. Even then, we'd need a way to intercept the ritual before it can affect anyone, and I don't think we know how to do that yet, either.
They weren't sure the last time I asked, but maybe now that this has happened again they have a better idea. I might try to ask them later. But tonight I think everyone needs a break. [...] I did talk to Erin though. I have more questions than answers, but it doesn't change that we're losing her tomorrow.
