The overseers would likely know best about how the summoning rituals work, but if they do, they haven't said so - at least not that I've heard. Even then, we'd need a way to intercept the ritual before it can affect anyone, and I don't think we know how to do that yet, either.
They weren't sure the last time I asked, but maybe now that this has happened again they have a better idea. I might try to ask them later. But tonight I think everyone needs a break. The ritual, as far as I understand, is performed on Mondays. The day after the ritual to eliminate the monster we voted for. I kinda wonder if that has something to do with it. Like...by doing this, it's actually giving them some more power to continue the ritual itself.
