[hello. asa has hobbled away from the cabin after waking up, and is now sitting on the beach. should be absolutely illegal for the beach to be this nice when several people have already died on the island, actually.]
aerith is at the beach, probably a little further down from where asa ends up, but as she walks she sees her sitting on the sand. she's quiet in her approach, but she stops a short distance away to peer at her.]
...it's still nicer here than back in the town, isn't it? [just a gentle segue. sometimes...after exposing yourself to 30+ people...you might not want to be around others.]
Little creepy, huh. [she will invite herself to have a seat though.] In a way...I'm kind of glad nothing's changed about it. But at the same time, it feels like a dishonor to everybody we lost. You know? You can't just wave a magic wand and make everything go away.
I guess not... But it feels surreal. All the evidence is gone, so it's like nothing ever happened. Or memories are the only thing we have left to prove it was real.
And even then some people might not think our memories are as reliable as they can be. [she says for no reason at all.] But we have each other. We all know the things we've witnessed and the things that have happened.
Well. We know at least one person got away, right? We don't know how they might be viewing the events that just happened. They could be more themselves now and not remembering exactly what they've done.

Great. So we just have to wait for someone to become more dangerous and be enough of a red flag to kill them? [she doesn't like that idea, but if they behaved enough to hide during the trial who's to say how far they can go before someone actually catches on?]
They might. We still don't have an idea of what all of the powers do. A lot of people aren't trading still. But if the monster's still here...it'll likely get arrogant enough and slip up on their own. It's just about watching people...knowing what they're like and seeing if something doesn't add up.
Someone could figure it out too, if the person who was possessed used a power they shared with someone before, but... That's less likely. Like you said, most people aren't trading. I don't think that'll change, and for good reason.
People are scared and I understand that. But at the same time...we have to try to start trusting each other with at least a hint. It could save people's lives. [if they knew monsters or powers, she means.] Have you traded with anybody at all since we've been here?
It's more likely to end someone's life, if you ask me... [because your partner could die? or maybe a monster will decide your power needs to be taken out. the anxiety spiral is real.

[yeah she does not disagree entirely which is why she hasn't shared much herself, but. if you're a monster you...probably?? wouldn't kill your partner? and you'd just work harder not to get caught yourself.

That makes sense. I haven't even asked for hints, but I don't think I need them. I'm pretty sure I know who my partner is.
Oh, they told me yesterday. [just. yeah.] But I didn't tell them we were a match since I know neither of us are actually looking. There's always a chance they're lying, but...probably not.
Huh? I mean, if they claimed to have your monster and power, it's unlikely that they're lying... But it's probably for the best to keep that to yourself.
Yeah, that's why I told them my monster was something different. If they ever change their mind about wanting to find their partner and I feel like it's better for both of us, maybe I'll tell them then. But for now it's safer to respect that they want to stay free. Just means I can tell other people what my monster is and find our theirs without worrying about accidentally matching.
Nope. Anyone I'd tell would also know I'm not looking to match yet either. And I think all of us are pretty aware that telling other people someone else's monster isn't a good look.
