It'd make the most sense. I wouldn't be surprised if some of the others felt the same with their partners gone. I know so many of them are still scared, but...it's for the better, right? And maybe a partner-related death is kinder than someone else taking care of it.
I think...what we can do right now is hope he knows we're supporting him from here. And prepare for the outcome, whether that's greeting him when he arrives or sending letters immediately if something happens and he can't make it.

I'm sure it would be much kinder for him, and... for all the good he does people, he deserves kindness.
