Companies like Shinra are part of the problem. They're using the mako energy from the planet's life stream to create energy and power the world. To them, finding the promised land would give them a way to build a bigger and brighter city to harvest the mako.

The only way to help it now is to stop the people draining her. And the people who want to destroy her.
