It makes sense. If everyone was trying to protect each other, it really did become safety in numbers for a while. I don't blame them. It's...unfortunate how things have turned out though.
[that's very sweet robin, thank you.]
I appreciate that. Sometimes I don't know if that's enough though, you know? With everything we still have left to do here and at home, sometimes it feels a little...hard. Especially if the things I can do may not work the way I want them to.
It's difficult to let people go. It's even more difficult to send them off when you know you can stop them. Our hands being forced because of the ritual doesn't make it any easier. At least... some people gained something, even if it isn't enough to make up for being here.
[ aerith will soon make texting with the living happen, so robin is validated in the future. for now... ]
I know how it feels to think you're never doing enough, that you can always do more or do better. That what you're trying doesn't make as much of impact or difference that you wanted, or that you'll be remembered for the wrong things... and your planet may depend on you, but that's why I started to think touching one life is enough. If you help one person and that leads to that person helping someone else, your reach expands.
So it seems. I do wish we knew if the things they earned for themselves were actually guaranteed, but I get the feeling we won't know until we're actually out of here. Nothing can help recover from the damage of losing your friends or losing yourself...but maybe there's still a way to fix it.
[she listens though, because these are definitely words of wisdom. it makes sense, really. a ripple effect. you touch the life of one person, who then touches the life of someone else, who then continues on until it becomes about helping each other seamlessly.]
...does your planet depend on you, Robin? Your city. [what's it like for her?] The important thing is always to be kind and hope that kindness is extended to others, but sometimes you can't help but wonder if it's enough.

[ before they found out the death quota requirement, anyway. ]
