[there's a nod because technically, yes, she supposes.]
Cloud, Camille and I found ourselves at the swamp. Everything was burning. All of the trees...we couldn't find a source, but the smoke was really thick.
Someone set a fire in the night....? I am surprised it didn't spread to the entire village if it was that bad, but... I won't question that kind of luck.
I'm surprised, too. It stayed with us the whole time, but I'm surprised we didn't see it last night either. We were outside all night...but we did fall asleep at one point. I don't remember when. [she frowns again.] It's like some kind of magic kept it contained to just that place.
[though it would have been a convenient sacrifice just to burn a whole village.]
It has to be. Certain things were able to get through the fog last night, but not us. Alfyn threw a rock but we couldn't follow. So if that's true, then...it's the cultists' magic? Or is it something else about this place? Pestilence told me that it's already changed since they first chose it as the place to bring us. Maybe it changed again.
[she clears her throat again, almost self-consciously and trying to be better. it kind of works.]
It's almost like everything that happened has been hidden from us. Some people have mentioned fights in other buildings, but everything looks the same. Why?
What magic does the fog have and do that it hides so much? If it's evolving without being prompted, that's concerning. It's more than possible that dangers lurk in the fog, too, as part of whatever magic it is.
[ more than just the hiding and confining. ]
I don't see any point in hiding what happened when we'd all talk about it.
[ she doesn't know this is supposed to be a murder mystery. ]
Knowing what we know now, I think it's safe to say there's probably something out there. Something besides the cultists could have come in to go after Aventurine. Maybe Death followed to try to help and was outnumbered.
[and we'll never know!!! (they will find out tomorrow, but for now they really don't know shit.)]
From what I heard, some of these buildings weren't here at first and then appeared later. If something that big can be hidden in the fog until it feels like revealing itself, there could be something out there we can't even imagine yet. [...] I haven't seen the crows around to try and reach the others. Have you?

[ she's trying her best to make sense of it even if there may not be sense to be had. ]
It's strange that I can't see the fire you mentioned, but your voice is proof.
