But that doesn't explain why it happened the way it did.

...it's also possible that two of them were partners who found one another. When I asked earlier, the overseers weren't sure when, exactly the other person would die. [so that's....fun.] But with everything those items had to offer, I don't think it would surprise any of us to find out it was someone's motivation.

I was hoping this week would bring people together more, not divide us further.
I'm not sure if that's a possibility I'd prefer. On one hand, they didn't have to die brutally, but... to not know it was coming is also cruel.

I asked Famine after the ritual preparations on Saturday. They weren't sure if it'd be immediate, mostly because it hadn't happened yet. They may have a different answer for us now if that's really the case here. Either way, you're right. We'll have to find our own way. There's only so much help they can provide us without putting themselves at a risk, too. But it's going to be harder than last time...tensions are going to be high.

It's one thing to be acting when you're not in your own mind, but I'd like to know what sort of incentive a person would have to act on their own and see this through. We'll have to watch and make sure no one tries to hurt them before the vote is finalized though.

If Boothill hadn't started acting up toward the end, there's a good chance we would have missed all the signs. We'll have to make sure everyone shares what they know right away so that we can start understanding everything. I don't want to think about what'll happen if we miss.

[ robin is primarily someone who prefers to support more than someone who takes noticeable action, but she can and she will if she thinks become too dire (and when isn't it dire when you're from a video game or in a murder game). ]
I have a feeling there will be so much we'll have to try to understand. There isn't a pattern yet, but... if the afflicted will act up in some way, perhaps that's something we can look for, too, outside of seeing what the evidence tells us.

It's just another reason we have to try and get to know everyone as well as we can, isn't it? Knowing what a person's really like...it'll be easier then to know if something changes about them and how to handle it when it happens. [they'll be able to go "oh you are so possessed, aren't you." a little faster. it's a faint hope, and it's not like she wants that to be the answer, but what else is there?]

[will that stop them? no. but just a thought. also ara i will absolutely midtrial you if you're a culprit.] It's an unfair system, isn't it? All we wanted was to stop the ritual and instead we have to take part in a different one just to save people. And for some of us...that may not even feel like we're saving them at all. All we can do is remember the right thing isn't always the easy one.

It means there's the chance of this happening more and more. But if it's a ritual they're using there must be a way to dismantle it. Even if it's just making one of the steps impossible for them. [whatever that might look like.] ...but I'm not sure what to look for yet.
...maybe we can try to think if there's anything the three of them had in common. Even a small connection might help us understand what would make them appealing to a monster. [and then work backwards to "perhaps this is why a certain monster was summoned, and if we remove what they want they can't anymore"]
