It can still affect part of it, but it only lasts 24 hours. Not as bad as it could be, I guess.

You might not, but whoever has the same power you borrowed might. At least we'd know what to look for in the future.

I guess. Makes more sense for someone to use it on an object, though.

Yup. [just. yup.] And with how things are, I'm willing to bet somebody's going to accidentally use a power on themselves while we're all learning.

Which won't make it any easier to figure out who's got what power. [ like, sure, they don't want to get tied down, but living in the dark is also not great ] Great.

...I was thinking. [and she'll bring this up with yuffie, too, but since they're on the topic...] What do you think you'll do if someone asks you to share your affinity and tells you theirs?

Depends who it is. If they tell me first, and it's not a match for any of us, maybe it isn't so bad to tell them. But if it is a match...they don't have to know what mine really is. Right?

Maybe. I know that's not very fair.

Maybe not. But it could be the best option to find out more of those abilities without risking tying anyone's lives together. [ there's a pause ] But then that means other people could try that, too.

As long as we make other people go first, and the more monster names we know, the more we can use to make sure there isn't a match unless we want them to be. Some people here really do want to find them.

Doesn't surprise me. They probably care less about the monster part and more about the extra power it might give.

Just be careful. If they're that intense about finding them, they probably won't like it if they figure out you're lying to them.

Yeah. Some of the people I've talked to already seem to think they're strong enough to survive no matter what so that risk doesn't matter. [so yeah.]

...I will. I don't want to lie too much, but just until we know more and can decide. For now it's easy enough to say I used up all three of my shares this week.
