Digitalis Old English folklore said that foxes wore the flowers on their paws to silence movement and stealthily stalk prey. Healing, pain, insincerity, insecurity
...we thought maybe the rules here were a little easier to understand if we could draw on what we knew from our homes. But now that this happened, it's like we're following a whole new set that none of us have a comparison for. Do you mean something like that?
It feels like it’d be easy to explain it using what I know, but that’s not really how any of this works. And even if it was, I don’t actually fully understand everything that’s happened to me — not enough to manage to explain it, let alone help anyone.
[that's a fair assessment, she thinks, but it still makes her frown all the same.]
There has to be something we can do. Even if we don't understand everything yet, this can't be the only answer. [like. the bodies are already gone and they have zero answers, but. please.] If we keep searching, maybe...
No. I'm sure everyone is already worried right now that overthinking will just make them worry more. [and yet here she is, worried.] But then where do we start to keep going?
That might be less than we think now if even one of our overseers was killed last night. [but not impossible.] But nothing is stopping us from trying to look still. Besides the...magic? Something is obscuring our view of the places people explored earlier today.
[okay. yes. they can die at any moment but did he have to say it? she's frowning but only because she knows it's true.]
They can't keep us waiting for too long. They'll likely want to know what happened themselves. [the overseers.] So if we can't find anything ourselves, we find their birds and try that way. We have to.
[it's fine aerith has her own thoughts on death that we're not going to touch for a while.
she gets what he's saying, and she agrees. but she musters up a slight grin anyway that isn't as bright as usual even if it's there.]
You don't have to worry about that with me. I know when to take a break. [she will not because she's going to check on literally everyone she knows.] We all have to if we want to find the right answers.
[ He sighs a little bit and produces a bunch of papers which he starts shuffling around, looking at them tiredly. They've got all sorts of scribbles and notes all over. ]
Right. I've been trying to sort out and keep track of what little information we do have... if nothing else, for my own sanity at minimum.
Terrible reminders, but better than that we forget and overlook something important.
...Especially if it happens again. We spent quite a bit of time just trying to understand anything at all.
[she immediately looks curious upon seeing daan's notes, but she waits patiently for him to share.]
I don't think that's a bad idea. Even if the reminders hurt, we need to know as much as we can to make things right. [also they'll be good for the trial they don't know about at the time of this thread.] With two of them gone...we can't even be sure what might have started this. Sorting it is good.

And if it happens again, we'll know how to organize things better.
...wouldn't be any good if your head burst, so take your own breaks, too. People are going to be restless and trying to find their own answers. We can at least combine everything together to try and paint a whole picture without making one person put it all in one place.

[ He shakes his head. ]
I don't know. I don't know how to explain it either. It might just get more confusing in the run to try.

[because that is sure what it feels like.]

Really… what trouble we’re in.

But as they say. Everything should come in moderation and balance.
We wouldn’t want to overthink ourselves into paranoia.

We'll figure something out. Push the boundaries bit by bit, at a level we feel safe about.

If we can die any moment anyways, though, guess I should at least try it.
[ Not to be a doomsayer, but this much is clear. ]
...A strong concentration of it, yeah, I suspect. To what ends... hopefully, we'll find out soon.

Yeah. Hopefully none of us jump to any conclusions, on either side.
...Not that I'm saying it'll be easy, but try to get some rest if it gets to be too much. Wouldn't do to see someone snap because they tried too hard.

It's all really a lot to take in... just trying to make sure my head doesn't burst from all the pieces.
Whatever gets us out of here smoothly... and with as few casualties as possible.

[ Sifting through his papers... he wishes he had like, some kind of binder or whatever they're called. ]
I'll see what I can try to sort out, what's important information and not.

It's appreciated. If I learn anything new, you'll be the first to know.

Thank you, Ms. Gainsborough.

Try to take it a little easier, okay?
[she doesn't expect him to and won't blame him, but you know. also i think this is probably a fair place to leave it since this was friday]
