Anemone From the Greek anemōnē, "daughter of thew ind." The Anemoi were four wind gods in Greek mythology. Protection against evil or ill wishes. Red: Death or forsaken love
[aerith, whining to cloud that yuffie didn't even bother telling her. she's looking at a cute hooded shirt while listening to him.]
Maybe he's multitasking? That sounds like something you guys have to figure out how as exorcists anyway. [but in all seriousness...] I did include your message in my letter, so he should at least get the point. I tried to outline it for a few of them, too.
[He's about to respond, but then they both get blasted with an AU vision of Lavi and Yuffie getting married with the golem as a ringbearer and the baby chocobo leaving a wild trail of flowers down the aisle. Lavi's eyepatch is white and has a rose on it now. All the bridesmaids dresses are broccoli green like Yuffie's shirt.
When it ends, Kanda is making this exact icon face]
Neither have I. [which like. also fair.] But I don't ever want to think about a universe where those two actually get married. Can we at least agree on that much?
Huh. [just. huh.] I never really thought to ask him much about his upbringing. Never felt like the kind of thing you can just bring up unprompted. But considering you've known him for a while that's not surprising.
He'd just tell you if you couldn't know something. They have a lot of secrets.
[That Kanda probably knows too many of, because, as Aerith said, he's known Lavi for years now. Belatedly, he realizes he didn't know if the marriage thing was a secret. Oh well.]
He'd ask you about yours back, though. [In case that's a sore spot for her, though he doubts she'd have a problem telling Lavi "no" in return.]
Maybe when we get back I'll ask him a little more then. Just out of curiosity more than anything. [she's nosy is what it is, but she also feels like maybe she and lavi have a few things in common in ways that aren't entirely conventional.]
He knows a little about mine already. When the memory thing was happening over on that side. [shrug.] There isn't too much interesting to tell, I guess. Some people here care and some people don't, and I think that's fine.
You would say that. But I assume it's just because you don't like being known, period. [fucking cloud behavior, again. anyway she does not expect kanda to ever ask. honestly she's pretty sure the guy doesn't even like her and she's fine with that, because as long as he tolerates her it means she can stick around and make sure he doesn't get too far in his own head, and that he's not actually alone.]
I can definitely tell him a lot of boring stories. The slums aren't exactly the nicest place to live, but they're pretty mundane in a lot of ways. And I'm sure Yuffie's told you guys some things from our travels, too.
[LISTEN sometimes your past is 99% trauma and torture and you just don't think that's anybody's business!! It's so funny though because he really doesn't dislike her but how would she ever know that. Kanda. Suck less.]
Not really. She mostly just dragged me around like you do.
[the good thing is aerith is so stubborn he'd really have—i was going to say he'd have to stab her to make her go away but never mind considering lucas is one of her favorite people in the world. guess kanda is stuck with her.]
Would you believe me if I said she's actually worse about it than I am? [also, yeah. who let her do that???]
We were leaving Costa del Sol when she tried to convince us to let her join our team. And in the end even after Cloud told her to beat it she kept asking and followed us on our way out of town until he said yes.
[The way I had to check because I couldn't remember if I got that as a memshare or if I just saw the clip myself I DON'T REMEMBER IF SIPP LINKED IT PUBLICLY well it's fine his reaction is the same, he just snorts.]
Of course she did. [Because she is a NUISANCE] Why did she even want to?
[sipp memshared it SOMEWHERE publicly or in our last curfew together before zia and i died i don't remember.]
You'd have to ask her for the whole story, I think. I don't want to speak for her, but let's just say that we all had the same goal in mind. Ever since then, we've been learning to work as a team.

Well, plenty of people, apparently! I hadn't realized how messy things got over there...

Tch. If he's too busy kissing to do his damn job then he deserves what he gets.

[HE HATED MEMSHARE HE HATES PERMA-MEMSHARE OOOOO HE'S SO PARANOID ABOUT IT ALL THE TIME
But he doesn't ask about her life or memories because of course he doesn't. But, bluntly:]
It'd be more to him interesting if it's boring.
[They see so much war and violence and drama and chaos all the time. A story about a nice vacation or something is the rarity, tbh.]
