[guess who's wandering into the haunted house to check out the living situation? this girl! sorry to kanda and kanda only, but it means that aerith is letting herself in after confirming a certain name is on the plaque of the mailbox, and she can be found downstairs just poking around. maybe kanda's upstairs and coming down, or maybe he's returning from being outside, but either way when he comes to the first floor he will in fact find aerith in the bathroom of the house, frowning a little.]

Seems kinda unfair...[hi, welcome home.]

[This is fine because Kanda doesn't claim this house as his anyway so he doesn't care who is in here (yet? remains to be seen.) In fact, he's probably only in here to look for Lavi or something anyway.

When she spots him, she'll probably notice that he's clean, but his hair is kind of stiff... perhaps because it was washed with soap... also, the number 2 is visible over his heart, through his clothes.]

Why are you here. [This sounds rude (because it is) but he is genuinely asking without irritation. This may or may not last.]

[kanda...well, i guess that's fair we don't exactly have shampoo and he does have nice hair. why do so many of you have numbers, she hates it here. kanda does not have a clear view of aerith's tattoo yet because it's on her arm which is tucked behind her, but she does at least look 0% sorry to be here.]

A friend is staying here now, so I wanted to see what it was like. If she can't be with us...it makes sense to make sure she'll be okay, don't you think?

which is to say she is extremely undeterred by his entire personality and she marches right up to him on monday, immediately waving.]

Hey. Have you been out to the woods yet? [i will physically drag kanda to go clothes shopping.]

Week 2, Monday/Tuesday

[i'm gonna be honest she sees this and she really is just staring at kanda in equal parts confusion and sudden understanding.]

[she gives him a little space just because she can only imagine this trial was still tiring for different reasons, but eventually she seeks out kanda and approaches him.]

...wanna walk? I can show you around a little more. Town's bigger than Scawwy was.

[She's correct, after he writes his angry letter to Lavi he vanishes for a few hours because he has had. So much to deal with. His head has been fucked up for several days and being Dead But Not Really is soooo insanely complicated and. Yeah.

But he'll come back eventually. He's... not really settled, honestly, but you know what he's good at? Insane levels of repression!!! So here we are.

He contemplates saying no just because he doesn't really want company (does he ever), but--he's taking Caelus's warning about memory fuckery very seriously and he doesn't have Mugen with him, so he nods. Lead the way!!]

[she's honestly going to go check the park amongst the trees first to see if kanda's out there training before anything else, but she is in fact seeking him out!! her emotions reflect something calm and curious as she walks, and no matter where she eventually comes across him she stops and gives a little wave.]

I don't know if indoor training is your thing, but looks like we got a gym now. So that's something.

[BEFORE HE GETS CATTED... he can be found sitting on the edge of the fountain! Just kind of. Staring into it, lost in thought. He hasn't been here long enough to get totally numb, but his emotions are muted right now.]

Week 5, Thursday

[PRESUMABLY HE HEARD ABOUT HER CYOA AT SOME POINT maybe he just saw Cloud running off to the springs with her or something idk it's fine WHATEVER

Either way eventually he'll come find her. Wheremst she. IS SHE ALIVE-ISH]

[IT'S FINE we all know things eventually. imagine if i said she died honestly, that'd be funny.

she is at her apartment! cloud is out doing cloud things (probably checking on the baby chocobo or grabbing things for her) but it means that he can knock on the door and find that it's easy to open! welcome. actually would kanda even bother knocking i feel like he'd just open it rudely. anyway here is the general view, though the bed is obviously bigger and there are a few more bookshelves filled with crystals and books and plants. there's also what looks like a large cozy sitting chair and a small table.

all of that aside, she's awake! she's curled up on the bed, and her wounds look closed so all of her blood is now inside blood. however she also looks unnaturally pale, and when she looks at him her eyes are glowing a little. she's also keeping her eyes only halfway open. light sensitive...of note, kanda might also notice that she's wearing a new cute black choker! little bit of gold on it...circuit-like detailing. there's also a preserved black flower in a small vase on the windowsill by the bed.

anyway the emotional feedback before she notices him are...bad. it's a quiet kind of panic, a little distressed and confused, and everything still sort of hurts so she's laying low, but upon seeing kanda all of that just stops and morphs into surprise. hi?]

[sometime after she's done being a child and after they're done watching the living make fools of themselves...they are now at delululemon. why? i just want to take kanda shopping, and aerith assumes that kanda will just leave if he doesn't want to hang out.]

So. After all of that, are you sure you still want him here? [she sounds kind of amused by this, but this is also a real question.]

[THIS IS TRUE he would. But sure they can be here. He stalked off in annoyance before things got super crazy but he saw Enough.]

No. He can die alone.

Week 6, Friday

[FRIDAYS... THEY SURE DO BE.

For a while, Kanda can be found near the spring! Incredible. He doesn't go into the water, though--that much is obvious from the way his skin is still visibly cracked. He did finally bandage his wrist, though, so that's something.

She can find him there, or in his room! I don't know if the exterior doorway area can be customized but even if it can, his door is still perfectly accessible. (Fanfic voice) Kanda only wishes he hated everyone]

[FRIDAYS....tiring.

she does in fact go to the spring though to see if he's even there because for her, she thinks it's 50/50 on if kanda will actually try to heal himself. given that he's not in the water though, it appears as though she was right about that much. she'll come and approach him though, settling beside him.]

...I can leave if you'd like, but I wanted to come check on you after that. Those break-ins can be really hard, even knowing they aren't real.

[okay after that clusterfuck she is straight-up going out to the woods to try and find kanda actually. barring that, she will check the dojo, and then the apartments. she knows he left but not exactly where he went, so eventually...she will find him?

will he actually answer the door though, that's the question.]

[The woods would be a great guess 90% of the time!! This time he went to his room to finish watching trial, though, because he couldn't stand to listen to Nehan talk about choices any longer, not after what he went through yesterday and all the other frustrations that have been building up over time.

He will answer the door, only because he never figured out how to charge his phone and he isn't in such a terrible mood that he doesn't want to be informed about emergencies.]

[this is post-stink because this is a lot. this is a lot? and for a long moment after aerith is beaten the fuck up with this memory she's left trying to figure out what, exactly, she just saw and how to process all of it.

eventually...she kind of looks like she wants to cry a little and the emotional feedback is mostly deeply sympathetic and horrified. but she remains calm anyway.]

...to become an Akuma...[she's not sure what she wants to say, actually, but it's clear her thoughts are very much "wow." so she's looking at him for a gauge.]

[at some point after anis's arrival, perhaps you are passing by the cemetery again on your way from the fountain visiting the overseers, or maybe on your way somewhere else. either way, you will find aerith here, and she appears to be...kneeling in the dirt with her eyes closed. hm.

Week 7, Saturday

[MISS AERITH where is the girl! Actually I assume she'll come looking for him tbh. If the pyre turns back to normal she can find him there, otherwise she can find him off eating soba somewhere. Some things never change.]

[you're right she would in fact come looking for him, which means she's wandering around. i don't think the pyre's back to normal actually so she probably finds him in the food court eating his soba.

there's a little smile though because yeah. unsurprising. she just approaches and lingers by a chair for a moment.]
