[today has been a lot!! but she's here, probably sitting in a pew that appears to have a little bed made of hay stuffed into a dropcloth. it's fine. she's looking at the baptismal pool when she hears vin, but when she turns to look at her she shakes her head.]
Because Death died at our doorstep, or for another reason?
Yes and no. [she should maybe be more bothered and yet here she is.] But I don't think there are many places left that feel like a safe choice anymore. May as well be somewhere that feels familiar.
That's right. [it's not quite the same kind of prayer, but close enough, she thinks.] There's an old church where I'm from. It's been abandoned for a long time, but it's the only place in the whole sector where flowers can grow. So I keep my garden there.
Well...we lived under the plate. The upper side of Midgar was the city where you could see the sky and feel the rain and everything. But the underside where we were only got some light and not much of anything else.
[that's a complicated question for aerith specifically, and while she's usually pretty open about things there's the most minute shift in her expression.]
People could travel to other sectors, yeah. There was a train but there were other shortcuts, too. [this is a very simple answer.]
It was possible to go up there, but the people who lived where were those who could afford it. Mostly Shinra employees, or members of the Shinra army if they were lucky.
Yeah. [fucking capitalism...] But it wasn't so bad. We all got by with what we had. But it was nice to see how everything grows so naturally outside once we left Midgar.
We left a little while ago before we came to this place. We've been traveling for some time...that's actually how we met Yuffie. She's from a different part of the world and we met a few times before we officially joined us.
We were getting ready to follow him before we came here. We'd just fought him, and he escaped. There's something he's after, and we have to beat him to it. [she shakes her head.] Our friends are probably still chasing after him.
[if time isn't stopped. she's not too clear on that yet.]

Being in a church devoted to the deity they want to sacrifice us to.

Wouldn't it be better to go somewhere they can grow more easily, then?
no subject
The other sectors were the same. Unless you went topside, you could never see the sky.

We have something important we have to do. Someone we have to stop. So that's why we're traveling now. We're hunting him down.

Hopefully you'll find him once this is over.
