[well this has all been lovely so far, thank you, spooky town. once it's been made clear that their things were available via blood sacrifice to leeches aerith didn't waste any time changing into her regular clothes and redoing her braid just to get her hair out of her face.
nothing else about the town has changed though, and it means she's wandering to see how others fared throughout the night. and this is likely how she comes across vin. she remembers that the girl was a little more resistant to conversation, so she keeps a polite distance so she doesn't crowd her. that doesn't stop her from offering a smile though.]
[she's also changed her clothes by now, putting on the white, lacy dress that got spat out of the swamp. it looks pretty formal, but also like it's seen better days - it's slightly torn and also very bloodstained. she doesn't seem too concerned about that as she glances at aerith.]
[vin why has so much of your inside blood become outside blood lately? but she seems relatively unharmed and in one piece, so that's good enough for aerith.]
Oh, this and that. The box only had a few things in it, but it's a lot better than it was before. At least this way we can all be a little more comfortable? [both physically and mentally because a lot of people (her included) arrived with weapons and it's probably good to keep them on hand. unlike cloud's stupid sword though aerith's weapon does not appear to visibly be on her person.]
[it's monday! and it means that aerith is once again out and about...you'd think maybe she'd get tired of wandering the same path in this small village, but no. we do not have much else to do, honestly, and so this is going to have to cut it. she has her hands folded behind her back as she walks, and it seems that this is covering some elegant sort of script on her arm that she's not really paying any mind to.
either way, when she crosses vin's path she offers her a little nod of greeting.]
[she's nosy, so as she approaches, she's trying to glance and see what that wording says without drawing too much attention to it. there's ink going up her own arm that says the collapse.]
Yes. The building with the coffins. [what's a mortuary] Yourself?
Oh, I'm so sorry. [DON'T JUST SAY THAT. anyway, there's a little shift of her bracelets and so vin can now see the word loss from aerith.] We're at the church. But Yuffie's staying somewhere else.
[which is a little bit of a problem, but they'll make do.]
[today has been a lot!! but she's here, probably sitting in a pew that appears to have a little bed made of hay stuffed into a dropcloth. it's fine. she's looking at the baptismal pool when she hears vin, but when she turns to look at her she shakes her head.]
Because Death died at our doorstep, or for another reason?
[here on middle summer island, aerith can be found crouched in the dirt admiring these beautiful flowers? she seems to be observing them, and should vin be close enough she might hear the sounds of aerith talking to them.
that's weird, but okay! does she bother to approach and see why she's doing this, or does she go about minding her own business?]
[it means that vin is going to hear the tailend of a sentence.]
...did say the fog was unpredictable. Maybe an exit's closer than we think. [she seems to see the shadow vin's casting over the flowers from behind, so she turns and looks up with a little smile.]
[she's sitting in front of the church today, staring straight in the direction of the pyre and where the new posters are on the bulletin board. but even so, when she sees vin she pulls herself together to call out to her.]
Vin. [just her name to catch her attention and gauge her mood, mostly.]
[she's looking at the bulletin board with an inscrutable expression when aerith calls out to her from the church, and she'll come over without much hesitation. in the same neutral tone as always:]
Yeah. [she just pats the ground next to her if vin would like to have a sit.] I don't think many people are coping very well, even if not everyone was particularly close to he three of them. It's a pretty scary situation knowing how much we don't really know.
[maybe vin is walking down the road from the new door. or maybe aerith is ahead and senses her presence behind her? who knows the true reason why aerith changes direction and moves to fall into step with her, easily walking beside her as the white figments flicker in and our along the sides of the abandoned stretch.]
Kind of depressing, isn't it? I already miss the sun. I wish we could go back even just one more time. [but she'll have to let that thought linger because soon vin is treated to a memory, lasting until 2:21:12.]
[at some point when the party winds down a little...she's still in the vineyard! sort of just glancing around at their set-up. she's still somewhat transparent on-sight but it doesn't look like she's going anywhere for a bit.]
Guess this came as a little bit of a surprise, huh?
[she's at barks & waffles at the moment, browsing a selection of books more to give herself something to do than to really read. but she glances over her shoulder, and when she sees vin she gives a little wave.]
Heya. Have you had much of a chance to look around yet? [she's pretty rattled from earlier, but let's just try to be normal for a sec.]
[at the new salon today, aerith seems to be browsing a selection of nail polish. was vin here just looking to see what this area was? was she passing through? you tell me.]
Guess now's as good a time as any to do some touch-ups if we really wanted to. [the mood is brief confusion though.]

Since we had a lead, I didn't want to corner her and risk her attacking someone else. But I didn't want to wait too long, either.
